Tetrabromobisphenol A is a derivative of bisphenol A, which is white powder, mainly used as an additive in plastic products, and is one of the commonly used brominated flame retardants.
Properties of Tetrabromobisphenol A:
Gray white powder, melting point at 184 ℃, boiling point at 316 ℃ (decomposition). It is soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, toluene red, and also in sodium hydroxide aqueous solution, slightly soluble in water (<0.1 g/100 mL). It belongs to non-toxic powder.
Tetrabromobisphenol A exists in the form of industrial products. It is mainly a white powder. The melting point is controlled at 179 ℃~182 ℃, and the bromine content is 58%. The true density is 2.2 g/cm3, and the bulk density is 1.36 g/cm3 (sealed) or 0.96 g/cm3 (loose). Heat mass loss temperature: 5% (244 ℃), 10% (261 ℃), so% (301 ℃). Solubility at 25 ℃ (g/100g solvent):<0.1 (water), 225g (acetone), 80g (methanol), 6g (toluene), 27g (dichloromethane), 168g (methyl ethyl ketone).
